Any interested person can register a hospital or clinic in Cameroon but there must comply with stringent conditions and modalities as stipulated by law. Equity in a hospital can be held by either an association, physical person, or limited liability. The size of the institution categorises it as either a clinic or a hospital, and this will direct on the kind of license to obtain.

While a clinic is a health facility that is primarily focused on the care of outpatients, clinics can be privately or publicly managed and funded. A hospital, on the other hand, is an institution that is built, staffed, and equipped for the diagnosis of disease for the treatment, both medical and surgical, of the sick and the injured and their housing during this process. The modern hospital also often serves as a center for investigation and teaching.

To obtain those licenses that will enable you to run your clinic or hospital you will need to provide certain documents through a lawyer to the regulatory agency.
